OUR PROJECT
Since 2000, the Pfrang Association has provided more than 1000 students with the opportunity to go to school.
They have received an education - a gift for life.
With the help of the Amity Foundation, we are able to locate students in rural Jiangsu province in need of financial support to finish their schooling. In this current academic year, students are attending schools in the counties of Huanyin, Suining, Fengxian, Lianshui, and Guanyun.
Our aim is to support students until they complete their middle school education.
Project Evolution
Previously we supported students for 9 years of schooling. However, around 2005 when the Chinese Government centralized the school system and provided free compulsory education up to grade 9, the Pfrang Association shifted its aid.
First, students in both junior and senior middle school are eligible to receive CNY2000 per academic year for boarding, lunches, school books and supplies.
Second, as education is neither free nor compulsory for students in grades 10, 11 and 12, Pfrang offers grants of CNY3000 per academic year after students have successfully passed the entrance exams.
Eligibility
To be eligible for support from the Pfrang Association, students must meet the following criteria:
In co-operation with the Amity Foundation, Pfrang carefully reviews the applications. Once students are supported by Pfrang, the Amity Foundation continually monitors their eligibility, academic achievement and behaviours.
Random school checks are conducted by members of the Pfrang Association to ensure the students are reaching their potential and that our financial aid is not mismanaged.
